What is CEREC?

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a state-of-the-art dental system that allows our Serenbe dental team to create high-quality ceramic crowns right here in our office. Using digital impressions and 3D imaging, we design a crown that fits your tooth precisely and looks completely natural—often completed the same day.

  • Natural-Looking Results

These ceramic crowns closely mimic natural tooth enamel, restoring both function and appearance for a confident, healthy smile.

Benefits of CEREC Same-Day Crowns

Dental crowns are commonly used to restore teeth that are cracked, broken, heavily decayed, worn down, or weakened after a root canal. Crowns protect the tooth while improving strength, function and appearance.

With proper oral hygiene and regular visits, CEREC crowns can last 10-15 years or longer, similar to traditional crowns.

Getting a dental crown is very comfortable. The area around the tooth is numbed before treatment, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure—only light pressure. Afterward, some patients may experience mild sensitivity for a few days, but it usually fades quickly. Most people return to normal eating and daily activities the same day.

You may need a crown if a tooth is cracked, severely worn, has a large filling, significant decay, or has been treated with a root canal. Crowns restore strength, function, and appearance.

Fillings repair small areas of decay, while crowns cover and protect the entire tooth when more extensive damage or weakness is present.

Traditional crowns require to visits. With CEREC same-day technology, your crown can often be completed in just one appointment.

While uncommon, crowns can loosen or come off due to decay underneath, trauma or cement wear over time. If this happens, contact your dentist right away.
